Sandra died on 1/28/2001.

SHERMAN - Mass of the Christian Burial for Sandra A. Lyons, 50-year-old Sherman resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  She died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Medical City in Dallas.

The Rev. Jeremy Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point, LA.

Sandra was born on Aug. 25, 1950, in Longview, Texas, the daughter of Joseph C. and Mary Thelma Lavergne Lyons.  She attended Sherman schools and Grayson County College.

She was employed at Texas Instruments for more than 30 years.  She was a diffusion technician.  She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, taught a computer class and read books to the elderly.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Lyons, Roy Dougay and Harold Jones.

Surviving are her father, Joseph C. Lyons of Sunset, LA.; daughter, Chery Ann Barnard Potter of Pottsboro; son, Joseph Lee David Barnard of Sherman; sisters, Mary Brown of Richardson, Elizabeth and Jerry Gordon of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Pam and Joseph Major of Opelousas, LA. and Mona and Edward Sullivan of Livingston, LA.; grandchildren, Jerry D. Shockley and Johnathan Joseph Shockley, both of Comanche, Texas and Jason Lee Potter and Matthew Dean Potter, both of Pottsboro; nine neices and nephews.

Rosary is Wednsday evening at Waldo Funeral Home.
