David Paul Wilson Sr.

On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, David Paul Wilson, Sr entered the Gates of Heaven and our family has gained another angel. He was surrounded by his loving wife and son, and many other family members. A graveside service for David, will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman at 1:30 PM with Pastor Wade, Chaplain at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, April 27, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home.
David was born in Sherman, Texas on March 25, 1948 to Paul and Nina Faye Wilson. He was raised in North Dallas and Sherman, graduating from Sherman High School in 1968. He met his wife Lynne in 1965 when they went on a blind date and eventually married in 1967. David was drafted into the United States Air Force in 1968 and served in Vietnam. After he was drafted, he and Lynne moved to Taiwan for the duration of his time during the war. David also served in the United States Navy and in the Army National Guard, eventually retiring as a lieutenant. After his time in the service, David went to work as a computer engineer for LTV Aerospace Technology in Grand Prairie. He retired in 1993 after 10 years with the company.
In 1973, David and Lynne had a son, David Paul Wilson, Jr. and in 1978 they welcomed another son, Dustin Woodrow Wilson. They were raised in the metroplex before settling in Sherman. David loved to boat and to fish at Lake Tawakoni. He loved bingo and he lived life to the fullest and was known to be the life of the party! He enjoyed and loved his family and he will be greatly missed.
David was preceded in death by his son, David Paul Wilson, Jr. and his brothers, Steve Edward Wilson, and Bradley Joe Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lynne, son Dustin Wilson and wife Katie of Sherman; sisters: Gail Wilson Shackleford and husband Steven of Justin, Brenda Sue Wilson Bantelo of Arlington, and Paula Wilson Brooks and husband Jerry of Lewisville; brothers and sisters in law, David and Laura Moore of Sherman, Janet and Mark Suchevich of Las Vegas, Nevada, Paula Jean and Terry Hargeshimer of Pottsboro, Tracey Ann Moore and wife Nita Stargel of Argyle, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
