SHERMAN - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah Ann Calhoun on August 23, 2016 at her home.

Deborah was born January 2, 1950, at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio to TSGT Robert L. Raley and Betty J. Wallen. She arrived in Sherman in 1960 with her parents and two sisters. Debbie had a few different jobs raising two kids to MEMC. She was at her best at being a mom, grandmother, and wife to Jerry, of 24 years.

Debbie enjoyed being active and outside. She was never afraid to tackle any of the projects she could think of around the house or at the property, whether big or small.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry W. Calhoun; mother Betty J. Raley; son Gary R. Acklin Jr. (wife Kristen); daughter Crystal E. White (husband Philip); granddaughters Raley A. Acklin and Alexandra J. Acklin; and sisters Beverly J. Fleming and Susan K. Taylor (husband Jerry).

A Celebration of Debbie's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Jerry W. Calhoun, Gary R. Acklin, Jr., Philip J. White, Rick Green, Al Zorilla, Nathan Zorilla, Jonathan Fleming and Luke Loving serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
