Joan Franklin Brown age 62 went to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve morning December 24 2011. The family will be at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman Texas on Tuesday evening December 27 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Ricky Texada of Covenant Church Colleyville campus will be officiating the memorial service on Wednesday December 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Covenant Church in Sherman located at 4100 N. Travis Street. Interment will follow at Rowlett Cemetery in Allen Texas. Joan has always been a people person with a giving heart. There are many friends who can testify of her willingness to reach out to those in need and her warm smile that made people feel good. She has many "adopted" children besides her own son and daughter that will also feel her loss deeply. As a wife Joan was a best friend always concerned more about her husband than her own needs. There are no words to express the depth of loss that will be felt by her family and friends. Joan was born to Jeremiah Bradley Franklin and Erin Lovene Fletcher in Sherman on August 4 1949. She was educated in the Sherman Public schools. She married Rex Lee Brown Sr. on January 16 1966 in Sherman Texas. Together they had two children. Joan was a member of Covenant Church in Carrollton. Joan is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Rex Lee Brown Sr. of The Colony son Rex Lee Brown Jr. of The Colony and daughter Elicia Michelle Sanders and husband Michael of Forest MS twin brother John Franklin and wife Tammy of Madill OK sisters: Billie Jean Paddock of Riverdale IA Lynn Franklin of Sherman. Grandchildren: Jeremy and Jordan Sanders. There are also 25 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and adopted children.
