Jean Dalton (Mackey)

Jean died as a result of Parkinson's & LBD. 

Edith Jean (Dalton) Mackey was born March 27, 1950 in Athens, Texas to James and Hazel (Mills) Dalton and passed peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2017 in Savoy, Texas at the age of 67.
Edith came to Sherman at the age of 6. She attended Crutchfield Elementary, Piner Middle School and graduated from Sherman High School, with her beloved class of '68. After graduation, she attended Grayson County College. Edith married Gary Mackey on November 7, 1969 in Sherman.
Edith was a proud Blue Bird when she was young, and grew into a Camp Fire leader for her girls and many others. She loved and remembered her Camp Fire girls often. Edith was a dedicated and ever present daughter, sister, wife, daughter-in-law, and mother-in-law. She has been a caretaker to many. Through illness, surgeries, depression, and the final trials of life, she has stood by family, friends and neighbors alike.
Edith was a fun and involved grandmother; she loved "her boys". She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by parents and her sister, Paula Dalton Sharp.
Edith is survived by her husband, Gary; daughters, Sarah D. Wetzel and husband, Brandon, and Cristin L. Boydstun; husband, Bruce; and her grandsons, John Isaac and James William Wetzel.
Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 20, at Waldo Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
