Larry Cheeks

Larry probably died from a heart attack on 2/29/1992.

Graveside services for Larry Dan Cheeks, 42 year-old retired accountant of Sherman who died Saturday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Friendship Cemetery.

The Rev. Duane Sheriff of the Victory Life Family Center of Durant, Okla., will officate with arrangements under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.

Born in Sherman, the son of Clyde Wilburn and Hazel Audra Meek Cheeks, Mr. Cheeks was a 1968 graduate of Sherman High School and a 1970 graduate of Grayson County College.

He married Deborah Kretsinger on Sept. 16, 1977 in Sherman.  They worked as missionaries for two years in Ghana West Africa and for six months in the Philippines.

He was a member of the Victory Life Family Worship Center in Durant and served as president of the Denison Kiwanis Club in 1977-78.  He also was a member of the Rhema Bible Training Center Alumni.

Survivors are his wife of Sherman; son, Samuel Christopher Cheeks of Sherman; daughters, Diana Cheeks Murphy of South Bend, Ore., and Danyel Cheeks Pyott of Sherman; brother, Jerry Cheeks of Phoenix, Ariz; mother, Mrs. Hazel Cheeks of Sherman; and one grandchild.

The family will be at the residence, 1818 N. Ricketts, in Sherman.
